The Ford Ranger Raptor with its 2.0L bi-turbo diesel engine that puts out 213PS and 500Nm of torque may sound like the ultimate truck, but having a family might make it a bit impractical as your main car. It's attention-grabbing in a way the miss might not approve of and that open bed isn't exactly the best place to stick your children and their stuff.

Which is why we wholeheartedly approve of Ford's decision to stick that almighty motor into the new Everest. Now, you get practicality and powahhh in a single package.

For you, the driver, the standout features are 20" wheels, 225mm of ground clearance, 4x4 capability, and a 10-speed tranny for better fuel consumption.

For everyone else, there's the hands-free power liftgate, leather power-adjustable seats, power outlets everywhere, and a panoramic moonroof which is low-key really fun to look out of.

All yours for the price of P2,299,000. Which is P300k over a Raptor but then again that's a pickup and this is a proper SUV. That sounds like a lot but it's competitively priced versus its less powerful SUV competition.

We eagerly await the modded versions with Raptor stickers!
