1. John Stockton and Karl Malone

Stockton and Malone are the only duo not to win any championships on this list. But that doesn't make them less deserving to be called one of the best NBA duos of all time. "Stockton to Malone" became a household phrase during their stint in Utah and if one were to look up the definition of pick and roll or assist, you'll probably come across one of the many highlights this pair had.

2. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen

Sure, the Bulls team that these two powered to a championship featured other great players like Dennis Rodman and Toni Kukoc. But it's undeniable that the true power of Chicago was in the hands of these two all-time greats. The pair of Jordan and Pippen were unmatched on the offensive AND the defensive ends of the court, resulting in two three-peats that remain unreachable to this day.

3. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal

Despite the feud that marred the end of their own version of the Lakers dynasty, the pair of Kobe and Shaq remains as one of the best the league has ever seen. On one hand, you have one of the best and clutch scorers ever in Kobe and on the other, the most dominant big man the game has ever seen in Shaquille O'Neal. Both had their successes after they split up but their time together in LA will be remembered as some of the greatest years in Lakers history.

4. Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Speaking of Lakers, we cannot have this list without the pairing of Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. If you have the all-time assists-per-game leader and the all-time scoring leader in one team,  you can expect to win many championships. And that's exactly what Magic and Kareem did as they appeared in the finals eight times and one five of them.

5. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson

They might be the youngest duo in this list but they're a duo that changed how the game is played. Steph and Klay are two of the best shooters to ever play and they've made the entire NBA value shooters more and build entire teams with that philosophy. The Splash Brothers will have an uphill battle proving that they can continue to win with the departure of Kevin Durant but regardless of what they achieve moving forward, they've already done enough to cement their legacy as one of the deadliest duos the league has ever seen.
