Pasig didn't waste their home court advantage as they won their second straight game at the expense of Rizal during Monday's double header. Robbie Manalang caught fire from beyond the arc and ended the night with 18 points to improve Pasig's slate to 3-2 and put them within striking distance of Quezon City and Makati. Richard Velchez also stepped up and was a rebound shy of recording a double-double with an 11 point, 9 rebound performance. Three other Pasig players scored double digits which was enough for a 78-72 victory.

In the other game, Mindoro emerged victorious over Cebu with the help of a legendary performance from Mindoro's homegrown player, Rodel Vaygan. Vaygan exploded for 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks which was more than enough to propel the Tamaraws to a lopsided 94-73 victory at the buzzer. Ex-pro Mac Baracael contributed to Mindoro's cause with 14 markers of his own while teammates Sandy Cenal and Kim Cinco chipped in 10 points each. Cebu's main gunner, Patrick Cabahug, was held to only six points for the entire game by a stifling Mindoro defense.
