The Bacoor Strikers almost fell to a scrappy SOCCSKSARGEN Marlins team at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on July 24. But Ian Melencio and the rest of the Bacoor crew managed to pull off their sixth straight win down the stretch, 65-60, to remain atop the South Division with a 6-1 slate.

Manila kept right at the heels of a rampaging San Juan Knights team by winning their Wednesday matchup against Bulacan, 93-72. The Stars were simply too much for the Kuyas to handle, scoring 58 points inside the paint against Bulacan’s 26. Carlo Lastimosa’s 27 points was complemented by a Manila bench that scored 20 points more than Bulacan’s own second and third stringers.

Valenzuela added another loss to its current skid via a resilient showing from a Basilan squad coming from back-to-back defeats. Both teams are now ranked #6 in their respective divisions.
