1. Carmelo Anthony

Melo is definitely not the star he used to be. His decline in recent years has only highlighted his already glaring weakness on the defensive end. But the guy is legitimately one of the best scorers to ever step foot on an NBA court and could still contribute quality minutes especially if (and this is a big if) he can find it in himself to accept a bench role. On a side note, Melo not being invited to Team USA is such a travesty and a huge sign of disrespect for their all-time leading scorer.

2. Jeremy Lin

You've probably heard how hard Jeremy Lin is taking this off-season. But while we understand the hesitation for teams to sign him, we also think that he's not any less deserving than some of the other players already signed to a roster. Lin can run the pick and roll extremely well and can still give you decent production from the bench. By all accounts, he's also a great locker room presence and should only be a positive for any team.

3. Kenneth Faried

If you need rebounds and steady scoring underneath, Kenneth Faried is your guy. The Manimal is only 29 years old and probably has a few more years left in his legs. Sure, he doesn't have an outside shot but that wouldn't be what you're signing him for anyway. In his short stint with the Rockets last season, Faried averaged 12.9 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. That's the kind of production that shouldn't be left without a contract.

4. J.R. Smith

When he wants to, J.R. Smith can be a great basketball player. He can shoot from the outside, he can slash, and he can defend. He's a versatile player that can still contribute given the right system. The dude deserves another chance to play and not let that mistake in the playoffs against the Golden State Warriors be our last memory of him as a player.

5. Vince Carter

If Vince Carter says he can play one more year, then Vince Carter can definitely play one more year. And as basketball fans, we won't say no to seeing him play for another season. He's not going to pull off sick dunks like he used to but VC can still be a solid veteran figure for a young team or a bench contributor  on a contender. If you ask us, we'd love to see him play his last season with Toronto and wear those classic 90s jerseys again.
