1. Kiefer Ravena

Kiefer's 18-month layoff will be over tomorrow and we'd love to see him in a Gilas jersey next week. He's still arguably one of the best guards available despite his extended leave and also seems to be in game shape so there's really no reason to leave him out of the final 12.

2. Robert Bolick

We have absolutely no idea why this dude was riding the bench back when he was with La Salle in the UAAP. Robert Bolick is the real deal and one of the future cornerstones of Gilas. The way he played during a pocket tournament in Spain is possibly enough to buy him a ticket to China next week.

3. CJ Perez

CJ Perez is another young gun that we're looking forward to seeing in a Gilas uniform. Perez is a do-it-all player who can approximate Calvin Abueva's contributions without all the unnecessary antics that come with it. He's aggressive on both ends of the floor and with Bolick, can form of the best duos in Asia. Perez is going to be a national player for a long time so why not give him some reps now?

4. Raymond Almazan

The injuries to Poy Erram and Matthew Wright are going to complicate matters for Gilas in the following weeks. We felt like both players would have been great additions to the final roster but we're counting them out for the time being until we know they're 100% ready. We'll miss Wright's shooting sorely but at least Raymond Almazan is available to step in for big man Erram. Almazan showed us he can play well in the international stage so there's no reason to believe that he won't be a good complement to the duo of Blatche and Fajardo.

5. Paul Lee

Paul Lee might not be as fast as Jayson Castro but if you need a bucket, especially during crucial times, he is your guy. There's probably no one else in this line up we'd rather hold the ball in the final seconds of a tie game than Lee and we are going to need every bit of his courage if we are to upset some of the big names we're facing in China next week.

6. Beau Belga

Most of our big men rely on finesse to operate underneath the basket but Belga utilizes his heft to its fullest extent. He's not afraid to bang bodies even with taller players underneath making him a valuable addition especially when Gilas goes up against bigger teams. His familiarity with Almazan and coach Guiao, and the fact that he can sink the occasional three-ball are also things we considered in picking him for our final roster.
