Derek Ramsay joins the likes of Gerald Anderson and Xian Lim as MPBL’s next celebrity-turned-baller in yesterday’s Batangas - Caloocan matchup. Ramsay, who also represents the Philippines in international Ultimate Frisbee competitions, played in his first MPBL game, suiting up for Batangas Athletics - Tanduay. The actor scored a bucket off a backdoor play which sent the Batangas City Coliseum wild. Ramsay’s bucket was only the icing on the cake as the Batangas squad led by Jason Melano handily beat Caloocan Supremos - Victory Liner by 13 points, 80 - 67.



The San Juan Knights reasserted their supremacy as they remain the only undefeated team this season after beating the SOCCSKSARGEN Armor, 100 - 77. The Knights were dominant the entire game, leading by 19 points at the end of the first half and continuing the onslaught with a 52-point second half performance.



Game 1 was an overtime thriller between Bicol Volcanoes - LCC Malls and Valenzuela SPV Top Marketplace. After losing Ronjay Buenafe to fouls and Alex Nuyles due to an injury, Alwyn Alday played hero for Bicol to extend their streak to four wins and inch closer to the top of the standings with a 5-2 record.
