MPBL's July 16 triple-header was full of strong individual performances and impressive team play which resulted in Davao Occidental, Muntinlupa, and Quezon City picking up wins in the Blue Eagle Gym in Katipunan.

Mark Yee put up his MPBL career 23rd double-double in a game that saw the Cocolife-backed Davao Occidental Tigers absolutely destroy the Rizal Golden Coolers - Xentro Mall, 86-55. Achie Inigo's team-high 10 points wasn't nearly enough to hold back a Tigers squad that separated themselves by as much as 33 points.

The Muntinlupa - Paranaque game was a much closer affair ending in a 9-point victory for the Muntinlupa Cagers behind stellar perfomances from Ryusei Koga, GJ Ylagan, and John Kevin Ortuoste. Muntinlupa's victory came despite head coach Richie Melencio's ejection due to two technical fouls.

Game 3 was an instant classic. In what seemed like another win for the previously flawless Makati Super Crunch, Joco Tayongtong stepped up in the endgame to steal one for the Quezon City Capitals. With his team down by as much as a dozen in the 4th quarter, Tayongtong just wouldn't back down and scored 12 of his 20 points in the last 5 minutes of regulation. The rest of the QC-based squad should also be commended for not allowing Makati to score a field goal in the same timeframe, allowing them to complete the comeback.

The MPBL has cancelled the games set today in Bataan due to bad weather.
