Basilan continues their steady climb in the south division of the MPBL with their 3rd straight win last Thursday. They now sit comfortably at 4th place in their division after coming out on top of their matchup with Mindoro, 105-89. Basilan dominated down low with 62 points coming from inside the shaded lane. The Jumbo Plastic backed Steel were led by Shaq Alanes who had 16 points. Irven Palencia also contributed heavily to the win by racking up stats across the board with his 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Jhaps Bautista, Gab Dagangon, Hesed Gabo, and Bobby Balucanag all scored in double digits for Basilan.




Caloocan came up with a 3-game win streak as well after beating Bacolod-Master Sardines, 89-74. Now at the 10th spot in the north division, Caloocan is just half a game away behind Pasay, Quezon City, and Bataan.




Makati claimed the solo third spot of the north division after beating the Bicol Volcanoes, 83-75. Makati held Bicol’s top scorer in Ronjay Buenafe to only 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting to improve there standing to 6-1.
