The Memphis Grizzlies must be absolutely ecstatic right now. After picking up Ja Morant in the 2019 NBA draft, it now appears as though they've also nabbed themselves a solid prospect in Brandon Clarke. Clarke was drafted at the 21st spot which is still comfortably in the first round but is far from that young group of Morant, Zion Williamson, and RJ Barrett that dominated the headlines pre-draft.

Recently, Clarke was named as the NBA Summer League MVP. Now that might seem like a hollow accolade to some but a quick look at the history of the award says otherwise. Only two winners can be undoubtedly considered as busts: Josh Selby, who shared the award with Damian Lillard in 2012, and Glen Rice Jr. Everyone else has either had a solid, starting-caliber career or are key pieces in their team's rotation and could still become better. Let's take a look at how the former Las Vegas MVP's have fared in the league and see why the Grizzlies have a reason to be excited for the future.
