For tops think: Breathable

You can either go for a simple top + patterned shorts, “a crisp white button-down shirt should be a staple. Make sure it’s 100 percent cotton so that the sun’s heat won’t stick to it,”  Galias-Genato suggests.

For bottoms think: Fun

With your shirt already looking simple yet stylist, you’re free to play around with colors for your shorts to provide some color to your outfit. “Board shorts with unique prints show that you can be fun and unpredictable. I personally like cacti prints,” Galias Genato says.

For shoes think: Laid-back

Since you’re never going to touch the water, “a good pair of leather sandals will add some style to your outfit but still keep it casual and chill while you watch the sunset on the shore or by the bar,” Galias-Genato says.

Complete the look with: a book since you're  literate like that

Another way to add some style and elegance into your outfit is to have a hardbound book with you at all times. You can take the same book with you as long as you’ve read it just in-case someone strikes up a conversation about it. Try bringing something a bit on the popular side like a Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami or a American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Please stay away from something basic like Lang Leav or something too inaccessible like Mookie Katigbak.
