Warning: If you are the type of person who hates having to make a lot of choices, then buying Iconic socks for a loved one—or in our case, for a monito monita who specifically asked for them—is going to be a headache. There are just so many to choose from.

But that is also what makes Iconic socks so much fun to wear.

We checked out Iconic Socks’ official website for more info about them. There was no clear statement there that they are a Filipino brand. There is an anecdote there from their brand manager, Sharrie, as to where the idea for the printed socks was hatched.

“When fashionable neckties became popular a few years back, I thought, ‘why not fun socks’?

“I ran this idea through all my friends and they all laughed at me saying there was no way they would wear socks with bacon and eggs printed on them! I decided not to push through with the idea since the market clearly wasn’t ready for such a radical product.

“As years passed, my guy friends started asking me if we sell colored, striped, or printed socks. Those little signs told me that men were finally on their way to accepting my crazy idea.

“We finally launched Iconic Socks in late August 2014 and guess what, bacon and eggs turned out to be our bestseller!”

We got two pairs at the SM department store—one was gray-colored with beer graphics on them; the other a blue one with eggs. They were priced at P199 a pair. Not bad.

Obviously, the selling point here is that the art on these statement socks are well thought out, and they’d have to churn out ideas constantly if they are to keep their stock fresh. But all in all, Iconic statement socks make for a very good Christmas present.
