The thing that sets apart Binondo from other food hubs is the amount of culture and history the food here has. Masuki is one of the oldest restaurants in Binondo. It's been around since the 1950s. It still went by the name Ma Kong Mami back then. But what's more impressive is that the recipe and the method of making the noodles, which is still being used today, was first sold on the street in the 1930s by Ma Chi On, the restaurant's founder. He used to bring along a huge container with him filled with hot noodles and soup, similar to how taho vendors would do it today.
