This is not going to be a Fyre Festival, you can count on that.

Because the Rakrakan Festival is a done deal. It’s going to happen on March 1 and 2—that’s right, two days—at the Globe Circuit Event Grounds in Makati. The 120 bands slated on the lineup will be performing on three stages spread out on those two days into the following categories: Move, Indie, Slam, Mosh, Peace, and Center. Looking at the artist list, we can tell that anyone who’s anyone in the music scene right now will be playing at the festival.

To make it a true counterculture festival, the guys behind Rakrakan are throwing skateboarding exhibitions and competitions, street art, and independent merch into the mix.

As with any legit music festival, some form of etiquette must be observed so we all don’t go down to the level of barbarians. So here are the rules:

You can get either the 1-Day or 2-Day Pass, and if you go VIP you have access to a meet-and-greet with the artists of your choice. You can get the tickets at SM ticket outlets. Here are the prices:

1 DAY PASS:
Pre-Sale: PHP 400
Door Price: PHP 500
VIP: PHP 1500

2 DAY PASS:
Pre-Sale: PHP 700
Door Price: PHP 1000
VIP: PHP 2000

You could come in at the festival naive and directionless and out of it smarter and with a purpose, too. That’s because for this year, Rakrakan has partnered with several advocacy groups such as LoveYourself, Peace & Equity Foundation, United Nations (Philippines), Global Peace Youth, Act for Peace, and more in order to spread a good word. It’s a better deal than all the glamping and excess the Fyre Festival offered, yes?
