Forget Richard Gomez's banana art;  this duct-taped banana at this year's Art Basel has sold for $120,000.

Astig, di ba? We're happy for the artist, who not only sold one, but he was actually able to sell two of these! We wonder about the artist's intention, but we wonder more about the mindset of the buyers.

Hang on, though. Not long after it was displayed, someone also made 'art' by eating it off the wall!

We're not entirely sure what to make of this, but organizers of Art Basel say that the banana was just the 'idea'. The buyers are paying the worth of the 'certificate of authenticity' rather than the art itself.

We don't know about you, but the art world is so confusing.

Oh, and they replaced the banana on the wall.

Excuse us, bibili lang kame ng lakatan at masking tape. Malay natin.
