After finally getting “MAU” (and that “grabe, grabe” hook) out of our heads, it got us thinking about a not-so-long-ago earworm of the hip-hop kind. So, do you remember Juan Thugs? After a prolific streak beginning ten years ago, they’ve been on hiatus pretty much but have left us with one iconic OPM rap track and a couple of other bangers as well.

"MOMAY"

Ah, the anthem. While their other famous tracks are very Bone Thugs-esque melodic rap, their ode to ganja is a more aggressive track that almost everybody knows–we’ve seen rooms of dudes light up (not literally) when this comes on–and first time listeners are in for a treat. SHOTGUN, SHOTGUN.

"BAKIT NGAYON KA LANG"

Juan Thugs isn’t just some bedroom producer on YouTube, in fact, there used to be a video of this being performed on Myx Live but it’s disappeared since then. Blingzy One does the heavy lifting on this mellow track with great production value.

"THANK GOD I FOUND YOU"

If you’ve got a problem with rap lyrics being “mababaw,” then “Thank God I Found You” has verses for days in which Juan Thugs flex their lyrical muscle in collab with “Magic and Pihikan.”

"MAGING SINO KA MAN"

A lot of people say Juan Thugs is just a Bone Thugs rip-off, but they produce tracks that are really well-done and deserve more respect. Let’s call it a homage!
