The Great Firewall is well-known because it blocks access to Facebook and other stuff on the internet while you're in China, but did you know they're increasingly into censoring video games as well? PUBG Mobile was denied monetization rights in the country, so publisher Tencent decided to just swap the whole thing out with a new, more peaceful game called Game For Peace.

It's totally not violent because shooting enemies now only results in Tekken-like impact effects rather than blood spraying everywhere. War has changed.

And no one actually dies, despite being reduced to desperate crawling by being shot, now they simply wave goodbye before disappearing into thin air like a political dissident.

In a nice guy move though, Tencent made it so that your PUBG progress could simply be imported into this new version.
