1. Metal Gear Solid

Back in '98, Metal Gear Solid stood head and shoulders above all other console games. Until now, we are still in awe about how innovative this game was. Not only did it start the stealth game genre, it also gave us plenty of memorable moments that we still talk about up to this day. If you've played this game, you'll remember the fight with Psycho Mantis and how different it was from any other boss fight you've ever encountered. Heck, some people still use the classic Metal Gear alert sound as their phone alert tone. We honestly can't think of any other game we'd want to play again more than this.

2. Final Fantasy VIII

A lot of the old Final Fantasy games have already been released for the newer Playstations and other consoles. There's even a Final Fantasy VII remake in the works which is rumored to be released in 2020. The thing we can't grasp, though, is why Final Fantasy VIII has seemingly been forgotten. It has been attributed to the poor preservation of the source code and its usability for a proper port. But if the PS5 can play the original files from the PS1, then there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to play this anymore. After all, Squall and Rinoa are still the best in-game love team ever created and we will fight you if you say otherwise.

3. Silent Hill

Aside from the Resident Evil series, the only other survival horror game that mattered for the Playstation was Silent Hill. Everyone knows now that the fog and darkness was there only to hide the limitations of the original Playstation, but damn it, it was scary as hell. This atmosphere that the developers built in-game, whether to mask technical flaws or otherwise, is what sets it apart from Resident Evil and the jump-scare and gory tactics that it used liberally. Silent Hill is a true psychological thriller in every sense of the term and, just like the RE franchise, has crossed over into other media such as film. This is a game we're both excited and scared to play again.

4. Suikoden 2

Suikoden was kind of like Pokemon before there was Pokemon. In this JRPG classic, one of the goals is to recruit the 108 Stars of Destiny - characters who can take part in combat as part of your party or NPCs (non-playable characters) that help develop the story further or change the final outcome of the game. Suikoden is generally regarded as one of the best RPG franchises to ever come from a company not named Square Enix and Suikoden II is one of the best in the series. One of the frustrations we had with this game was that we were never able to recruit all the Stars of Destiny (give us a break, we were in Grade 2) and being able to play this on the PS5 will give us another chance to attempt that feat.

5. Twisted Metal 2

Forget about Gran Turismo for a moment and let's talk about the real GOAT of automotive games: Twisted Metal 2. Released in the second half of the '90s, this game was absolutely crazy in the best way possible. Featuring a cast of very interesting and diverse characters, Twisted Metal 2 had you fighting to be the last driver standing (or driving), using a host of different weapons to burn, vaporize, or detonate your opponents and their vehicles. This is definitely a game that will be on our PS5 if possible.
