We look up to Pinoys making it big in the US comic book scene. One of the more popular artist who worked on several Marvel comic projects was Gerry Alanguilan. Gerry died last December 20, 2019. Prior to that, he would be seen in a wheelchair as he makes his appearances at comic conventions. His illness was never disclosed to the public. He also recently tweeted that he was in pain.

Gerry got the attention of local comic book fans with his Wasted graphic novel. It resonated with several angst-ridden '90s kids.

He was popularly known as the inker of another Pinoy comic book legend, Leinil Yu. They would work together on several projects such as X-Men, Superman, and Fantastic Four.

He also became popular when he posted this video online.

Gerry has a museum in San Pablo, Komikero Komiks Museum, where he curates art works from other local legendary artists such as Alfredo Alcala, Nestor Redondo, Francis Coching, Alex Nino and countless others.

RIP legend.
