1. Overcooked 2

Platform(s): Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac

Overcooked is a cooking simulation game that puts you in the shoes of chefs trying their best to run a kitchen by doing all the obvious stuff like chopping ingredients, cooking meat, and cleaning the dishes. But aside from that, you also have to deal with moving floors, fireballs, and the occasional teleportation devices. It's hectic, challenging, and most of all, a lot of fun. We must warn you, though, that even if this game is cooperative at its core, it has the tendency to start many fights especially if one of you suddenly starts channeling the spirit of Gordon Ramsay.

2. A Way Out

Platform(s): Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC

The only game on this list specifically made for two players, A Way Out is a story-driven split-screen game that lets you become two convicts working together to escape prison. The game lets you finish objectives in different ways but almost always with some form of cooperation involved. For example, one player can distract a guard while the other steals a much-needed tool behind his back. It's that kind of teamwork that's necessary to complete the game and makes it interesting for both players at all times.

3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Platform(s): Nintendo Switch

Originally released for the Wii U, Mario Kart 8 has found itself to what is probably the best console for multiplayer gaming in the market now, the Nintendo Switch. As with the previous installments of Mario Kart, the game just oozes fun from the get-go. Even your non-gamer partner can easily pick it up and, with a little bit of luck, beat you on your first race together. There's another layer of difficulty if you truly want to master the game like finding shortcuts on the track and maximizing the effects of drifting and the different power-ups. But even without mastering these things, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still an absolute blast to play.

4. Life is Strange

Platform(s): Playstation 3/4, Xbox 360/One, PC, Mac, Android, iOS

Yes, we know that Life is Strange is a single player game. But if you and your partner enjoyed watching Bandersnatch then trust us, this is better. Life is Strange is a graphic adventure game that tells the story of Max Caulfield, a teenage girl with the power to play with time. It's a truly immersive and powerful story experience with plenty of difficult choices as the game tackles many different themes from teen angst, friendship, drug abuse, and a lot more. If you enjoy this game, the first two chapters of Life is Strange 2 is already available so you also might want to check that out.

5. Rocket League

Driving cars is fun. Football is kinda fun. Put them together and you get one of the most awesome sports mash-ups in gaming history.
