As expected, the first day of the implementation of the metro-wide community quarantine caused confusion and heavy traffic along the borders of Metro Manila.

The picture above shows the long lines along San Mateo, Rizal.  Over at the south, there was also a long line at the border of San Pedro, Laguna going to Muntinlupa.

Things weren't any better at the North boundaries of Metro Manila, where those coming from Bulacan and Pampanga were forced to walk up to a kilometer to get a ride after their commute stops at the borders.

The DOTr has earlier issued an advisory regarding the proper stops for provincial buses going to Metro Manila. They are to stop and alight their passengers at the North Luzon Express Terminal at the Philippine Arena.

Commuters within Metro Manila were also affected by the imposed social-distancing measures by the DOTr on buses and trains. Many were packed in clusters while waiting for buses, or lining up at the train stations.
