The new Aladdin trailer just dropped and we get our first solid look at... Will Smith as the jovial blue Genie. While we have the new Pink Ranger in there, no doubt Will is the star of the show just like how Robin Williams was the biggest name in the OG 1992 animation's cast. The buzz is that a lot of people find the new Genie's appearance mildly...unsettling, but we have a different pressing thought on our minds: why are we not excited for this remake?

Same goes for past efforts like Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book and upcoming ones like Lion King and Mulan. We're just not looking forward to seeing them at all. It makes you wonder who Disney's market really is for these modernized fairy tales: the kids who grew up with them or actual kids? Whatever the case, they're onto something because Beauty and the Beast was lowkey the second-highest grossing film of 2017. And we expect Lion King to tear into the box-office in a major way.

So Disney is obviously capturing (a lot of) hearts out there except for ours. But we say that doesn't mean our childhood is dead—it's just that the studio needs to resurrect a different set of films to pique the interests of ex-children like us. Here's a list of greatest hits, and if none of these appeal to you then maybe your childhood is dead indeed.

The Mighty Ducks

The picture of a cast reunion went viral, which proves that ducks still fly together.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire

If any movie could use a gritty reboot, then this already sort-of gritty animation is it.

The Emperor's New Groove

Okay, a live-action take on this could be a total disaster but it would make us really curious at the very least.

Lilo & Stitch

Yo Lilo is already 17 years old by now. Maybe a remake of an early 2000's film is the next step in this hype train.
