1. The Wedding Singer
We can't have this list without including the plane scene from The Wedding Singer. Featuring the now engagement/wedding staple "Grow Old With You", this scene features Adam Sandler serenading Drew Barrymore through an airplane's PA system using Billy Idol's guitar. The pair would eventually do it again in 50 First Dates but this is the harana scene where all other harana scenes will be judged by.
2. Say Anything
There is no image of the western idea of harana as iconic as John Cusack holding a boombox over his head and blasting out Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes". It's not what you would call traditional but the pop culture appeal is undeniable. It has been parodied, turned into countless memes, and referenced in numerous other films and shows making it one of the more lasting images of a harana we'll ever see.
3. 10 Things I Hate About You
Before his legendary take on The Joker, Heath Ledger appeared in one of the best rom-com films of all time, 10 Things I Hate About You. In one scene, he hijacks his school's football field sound system and serenades Julia Stiles with a rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". It's definitely one of the best scenes from one of the best '90s rom-com ever made.
4. Top Gun
Now this is something we want to see someone in real life pull off. All you need is a group of friends willing to back you up and you can give this a try. But please, don't do what Tom Cruise does after the song and follow the girl inside the women's room.
5. Scream 2
Scream 2 is just about the last place you'd look to find a harana scene in a movie. But, here it is. Too bad most of the people involved in this scene died soon after.
