Fresh off the success of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, the franchise nobody expected had yet another sequel confirmed for May 2021. We're stoked to see that, but it's going to be a long wait so here are some classic films with ice-cold killers to keep you going in the meantime.

Collateral

Tom Cruise's intense performance in Collateral is one of the most ice-cold portrayals of an assassin ever. He's the (legitimately menacing) bad guy in this film but you can't help but kind of root for him and admire his sleek gun skills.

Léon: The Professional

Léon's story follows the retired-assassin-gets-dragged-back-in that John Wick started off with, but unlike the original JW, this film has a much more substantial and charming plot that doesn't disappear as soon as the killing starts. And, of course, a young Natalie Portman stealing the movie from everyone else.

Sicario

If you want more of that raw and realistic gunfighting that shows how real pros operate, Sicario is worth watching for that border scene alone.

The Transporter

Before Fast and the Furious, Jason Statham was the Transporter in what turned out to be a successful franchise as well. His character Frank made wasting bad guys look easy and being a high-end driver-for-hire seem like the coolest career ever. Also, hello Shu Qi!

Die Hard Trilogy

Finally, one of the OG one-man army movies. Stick to the original trilogy (which ended in 1995!) and remind yourself of how bad-ass Bruce Willis was in the peak of his career.
