1. All I Ask

The heartbreaking ballad performed Adele is a challenging karaoke pick for those brave enough to attempt it. Adele performs the track so well that you'd be forgiven if you never found out that she co-wrote it with another artist who is more known for upbeat and funky tracks. That someone else is Bruno Mars. Yes, the "24K Magic" artist helped write this song and actually is credited as a writer on many other hits as well such as "Forget You" (Cee Lo Green) and "One Day" (Matisyahu).

2. Manic Monday

The Bangles had been together for close to five years before they really broke into global success with the release of "Manic Monday." And while we will forever link this song to the all-girl band, we should never forget that this track is another excellent contribution to the music scene by Prince. Rumor has it that Prince, like us, had a huge crush on guitarist/vocalist Susanna Hoffs which is why he gifted the band with this track.

3. Lost Stars

Gregg Alexander is not a name most of us know but should. Alexander is the fisherman's hat wearing frontman of the band New Radicals who gave us hits like "Someday We'll Know" and "You Get What You Give." After the band failed to release a follow up album to the excellent Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, you'd be forgiven to think that Alexander quietly faded into obscurity like so many one-hit wonders from that generation. But that's far from the truth as he has been active in penning songs for other artists from Santana to Boyzone. But one of the most popular songs he has written post New Radicals is "Lost Stars" which was performed by Adam Levine for the movie Begin Again.

4. Hot in Herre

Nelly broke into the scene in 2000 with his debut album Country Grammar and made wearing bandaids under the eye a fashion statement. But he really achieved the height of his career with the release of his sophomore album, Nellyville. That album featured "Hot in Herre," Nelly's first #1 song in the American music charts, and a track that was co-written and co-produced by Pharrell Williams. Pharrell has worked on a ton of other tracks over the years as well, writing or producing tracks for Gwen Stefani, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, and even Madonna.

5. Party in the U.S.A.

Along with "Wrecking Ball," this track is probably the other song you associate exclusively with Miley Cyrus. But we bet you didn't know that this track was written by Jessie J and was supposed to be part of her debut album. She has stated in interviews that the song just didn't feel right for what she was doing at that time which eventually led to the song being given to Miley.
