Donations from San Miguel Corporation (SMC) conglomerate to the nationwide effort to manage the impact of the Covid-19 on the country has now reached P877.8 million. This is believed to be the largest amount mobilized by a private company in this time of the pandemic. This includes a personal donation of P100 million from SMC president, Ramon S. Ang.

“We are reporting on our progress so that people will be assured that help is on the way, that many organizations are mobilizing and working together to support the government and our fellow Filipinos. Together, we will win this battle,” said Ang.

SMC's Ginebra San Miguel Inc. has completed retooling its facilities nationwide to produce 70% ethyl alcohol for disinfection.

The company has also been providing toll-free access to SMC tollways - Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, NAIAx, and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX)- for medical doctors and nurses.

Good job, SMC! Now, if only they can do something about the liquor ban.
